Thanks for writing about this sad and heartbreaking subject, Boateng. But think about this for a moment:

What if Grandma has always been independent and that was her first major memory issue? What if the episode scared her so much that now she's willing to accept help? What if she left her house without letting anyone in her loving and caring family know she was leaving?

I don't agree with calling families "negligent--almost criminal" until you have all the facts. For every "What if" I asked, I know families and grandmas who experienced those situations.
