Thanks for this super book review, Bebe. I was looking for a good piece of fiction. I'll read this book.

Regarding culture and writers, I feel most qualified to write about my experience--which crosses cultures. It's easy to write what I already know. But I'm not limited to what's easy. I can also write from other perspectives--if I do the necessary research.
