Anger Sometimes Hides Behind a Mask of Compassion

I recognized it when I saw a Cruella de Vil feeding a dog

Why would anyone with a properly functioning brain scatter dog food in the middle of a busy street?

“To err is human. To forgive — canine.” –Author unknown

Stray and lost dogs aren’t as big a problem in my community as last year. But I sometimes see them sniffing around for food. I give them water. However, I don’t feed them unless they look pregnant or famished.

My cousin told me, “If you feed strays, they move in.” I admit he was talking about men he knows.

While standing outside, looking across the neighborhood, I saw a mid-size, pregnant-looking dog walking down the middle of the street. When I see strays, they are usually on the sidewalk or in somebody’s yard. The street is too busy for most dogs. People walk in the middle of the street, though. But they’re drugged out of their minds.

As I tried to decide how to distance the dog from potential danger, I thought the car behind it was waiting for the pet to get out of the way. The lady in the vehicle veered to the right and slowly drove beside the dog. Then she threw a handful of pellets out her window, hitting the canine.
